The key verse of Revelation 21 would be I think verse 5.
5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me,[a] “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”
Do you dislike your physical body? Do your emotions bother you and are something that you would rather be rid of? If your answer is “Yes” then you might make a good Gnostic but not a good Christian. Gnosticism is an ancient heresy that is still around today. Gnosticism teaches that God does not care what we do with our bodies- that its all about the ethereal, the ideal, and the spirit. Contrary to these New Age notions God loves our bodies. After He created them, He announced that they, along with all creation, were excellent in every way. ( Gen 1:31).
God is making the whole universe into something new(Romans 8:19-25) and that includes you! He has a plan not just for your interior but for your body as well. The difference between Christians and the rest of the universe is that we are in Christ. Since we are already in Christ, the new creation is has already begun inside of us. This creation looks like an ordinary human on the outside, yet quietly and humbly contains the Gospel and the Holy Spirit. Inwardly, something is throbbing with a dynamic energy as a new being is created in the image of God’s glorified Son.
God is making all things new and you are at the head of the line. All creation stands on tiptoes to see the mighty work God is doing to those who are in Christ>
