Elements of Stewardship and Holy Angel- it’s a Cherub!

Lets begin with the good stuff first and get right to the money!  Lets take a look at Luke 12:25-34 (nkjv)

Luke 12:25-34

New King James Version (NKJV)

25 And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 26 If you then are not able to do the least, why are you anxious for the rest? 27 Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 28 If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith?

29 “And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. 30 For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. 31 But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things[a] shall be added to you.

32 “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. 33 Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches nor moth destroys. 34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Footnotes:

  1. Luke 12:31 NU-Text reads His kingdom, and these things.
Now a few questions on these verses.
vv25-26:  How does God assess our abilities as owners?
vv 27,31:  What is God’s promise to us?
vs 32: What should our attitude be?
vs 33:  What does God ask of us?
vs 34: Why?
If we seek God’s wisdom He will supply it but we have to understand that God’s will does not always coincide with what our desire is. We have a tendency to strike out on our own without any clear direction from God and that leads us into trouble and violates the principle found in Matthew 4:7.  That is why God at times may withhold funds in order to teach us a lesson.

Matthew 4:7

New King James Version (NKJV)

Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’”[a]

Footnotes:

  1. Matthew 4:7 Deuteronomy 6:16

In the following verse God makes a promise to us- what is that promise? What is required before God will fulfill that promise?

Matthew 6:32-33

New King James Version (NKJV)

32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

What can we trust God for f we are in His will?

Mark 11:24

New King James Version (NKJV)

24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

Ok, lets move onto our study of angels. Lets take a look at the Cherubim first:

We have already covered Ezekiel and his experience with Cherubim on my radio broadcast. Cherubim are described as living creatures. The guard the Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden. They are the protective barrier to the throne of God. They are found in many works of art including in the Tabernacle and on the Ark of the Covenant.    Much more to come on this!
